HIAP Open Studio Winter 2025

Shown clips of work-in-progress three-channel film in HIAP Open Studio, Helsinki, Finland. The film investigates in battery economy of electric vehicles and mining industry in the Gulf of Finland and Southwest China. It conceptualizes the car as a “Time Machine” within a Sci-Fi framework. The film weaves a narrative that traverses history, Sci-Fi imagining, and landscapes of Finland and Southwest China, featuring an epistolary dialogue between two fictional miners. History and futurism, reality and fiction is blending in the chaotic memories following time travel.

Documentary Data Brothers, Sun Lamp and Ethnic Minorities behind Landscape exhibited at ICA London with Conditions Digital Lab on August 4th, 2024. The documentary is the shooting during field research in Tujia longevity village in Yinjiang and tour in Guizhou (Southwest China). It witnesses the infrastructure development in Guizhou and live of ethnic minorities interweaving between live stream and reality.
