About Artist
Yiqing Chen (born in Guiyang, Guizhou) is an artist and digital director currently based in London. Sitting between fiction and documentary, his practice explores transnational contexts linked by infrastructure and virtual technologies, where labour archives, ecological change, and Indigenous narratives are interwoven.
His work has been exhibited and screened at Tate Britain; ICA London; Cromwell Place, London; Conditions, London; Wetdovetail Gallery, Middlesbrough; MEET Digital Culture Center, Milan; HIAP, Finland; and the ESPRONCEDA Institute of Art & Culture, Barcelona, among others. In 2024, his ‘Gaming as Method of Sound Production’ won Artathon Gdańsk, organised by LAZNIA Centre for Contemporary Art (Poland), as part of ‘Augmented Europe 2nd’, funded by the European Commission (EACEA). Yiqing holds an MA in Digital Direction from the Royal College of Art, London (2021), and a BEng in Internet of Things Engineering (2018).
